FAQ's

Q1. My child's adult teeth are growing behind their baby teeth! Is it normal?

Yes. Many times the permanent teeth erupt behind the primary teeth. Once the baby teeth fall out, the adult ones normally take their space.

Q2. Root canal treatment sounds scary! How painful is it?

With the help of local anaesthetic (LA) there should not be any pain or discomfort during root canal treatment. Sometimes due to highly inflamed status of the nerves of the tooth,

LA may not be as effective as it should be but fortunately there are other ways of LA administration that can eventually numb the tooth.

Q3.  I am very nervous! What do you offer?

Many patients only need reassurance about the procedure and pain-free nature of dental treatments but if you still find yourself nervous, we do offer sedation that allows you to have your treatments in a very relaxed way.

Q4. Why do I need to have a crown put on my tooth after I have a root canal treatment?

When a tooth needs root canal treatment, it is already damaged and some other tooth structure will be removed to allow access for root canal treatment. This will make the tooth very susceptible to fracture under chewing and eating forces. A crown or other cusp coverage restoration will protect the tooth from dramatic fracture.

Q5.  I brush everyday very well but still have lots of dental problems! Why?

There are several reasons for tooth decay. One of the main reasons is high sugar and acid in the diet. Cleaning in between your teeth is as important as brushing. Regular dental and Hygienist visits will help to detect problems with the above and guide you through better oral health.
